Safeguard your hearing - keep the noise down whenever possible and protect your ears. When close to or operating noisy power equipment, wear earplugs or anti-noise muffs.
At a noisy concert or party, try to keep away from the loudspeakers. Most hearing loss after being exposed to a great deal of noise is temporary. Your normal hearing will return within a short time. If it does not, consult your doctor.
Check any medicine you take. Too much aspirin can cause ringing in the ears, as can some antibiotics whose names end in -mycin. Talk to your doctor about the problem.
